 How Roof Rejuvenation Works

The Roof Rejuvenation product works by restoring and preserving the oils inside of asphalt shingles. Over time, these shingles tend to lose their natural oils, causing the granular coating to wash into the gutters and leaving the shingles susceptible to cracking and deterioration. 

Our roof rejuvenation solution contains specialized compounds that penetrate the shingle’s surface, replenishing the lost oils and rejuvenating its structural integrity. By doing so, it reinforces the shingles ability to hold onto granules, thus enhancing their resilience and longevity.

With each application of the rejuvenator solution you can expect to add an impressive five years to the lifespan of your roof shingles.

Roof Life Stages

Year 5-10 of Shingle Life

Ideal timing for Preservation dosage to maintain the roof’s service performance at “like new. Repeat applications every 5 years.

Year 10-22 of Shingle Life

Maintenance dosage allows restoration of the asphalt shingle service performance. Restores to “like a 5 year roof”

Years 22+

Restoration dosage calculated based on shingle condition. Allows added time for budgeting for  a new roof.

Roof Assessment

We will assess the parts of your roof that cause the most problems, such as flashings and exposed nails, to be sure it’s safe and ready for our treatment.  This includes:

  • Replacing or securing loose or missing shingles
  • Re-sealing flashings and other vulnerable spots
  • Hammering and sealing exposed nails 
  • If we discover any issues can be handled through standard maintenance, included certain leak situations, we can take care of them before treatment. However, if the roof has long-standing or more serious damage that puts it beyond repair, a full replacement may be the only safe option. Either way, we will help you understand your options.

  • PRI is a national and global leader in materials testing and performance. PRI provides accredited, independent, third-party testing, evaluation, and technical services to the Asphalt/Bitumen, Building Materials, Chemical, Construction/Infrastructure, and Energy Markets.

PRI Overall Results & Conclusions (shingles treated were a 20% soy mix)

  • Mass Loss (losing asphalt to oxidation, binder, and granular loss)  The TREATED Shingle performed 10.8 times Better! The untreated shingle lost 5.4 % as the treated shingle only lost 0.5% of its Mass!  HUGE DIFFERENCE
  • Wash Off Material (particulates collected after 1500 hours of accelerated wash down) The TREATED Shingles performed 5.8 times Better!  Untreated lost 4.08 grams compared to a treated shingle only losing 0.7 grams!  Remarkable Difference.
  • Oxidation Aging (1500 hours of high exposure to UV) The TREATED Shingles performed 3.9 times Better!  Untreated had a 30.7% increase in the carbonyl index test, while the treated shingles only 7.8%   =  The sun does less damage
  • Flexibility (after 1500 hours of the same exposure as above) The treated shingled improved low temperature flexibility.
  • Color and Appearance (after 1500 hours the treated shingles have a significantly different appearance).  This is due to less oxidation and having more internal oils present.
